# HID Card Reader - Wiring Diagram Explanation ## Wiegand (WG26-37) Connection For connecting the HID card reader to an access control panel using the Wiegand protocol: - Red wire: DC12V (Power supply positive) - Black wire: GND (Ground) - Green wire: D0 (Data 0) - White wire: D1 (Data 1) - Blue wire: LED (LED control) - Yellow wire: BEEP (Buzzer control) ## RS485 Connection For connecting the HID card reader to a host computer or controller using RS485: - Red wire: DC12V (Power supply positive) - Black wire: GND (Ground) - Green wire: 485+ (RS485 positive) - White wire: 485- (RS485 negative) ## RS232 Connection For connecting the HID card reader to a host computer or controller using RS232: - Red wire: DC12V (Power supply positive) - Black wire: GND (Ground) - Green wire: RX (Receive data) ## Important Notes: 1. For Wiegand connections, it's recommended to use an 8-core shielded twisted pair cable. The Data1 and Data0 wires should be a twisted pair. The maximum cable length should not exceed 100 meters. 2. The shield of the cable should be connected to the GND of the controller. 3. If LED feedback for valid cards is not required, the LED wire can be left unconnected. Similarly, if buzzer feedback for invalid cards is not needed, the BEEP wire can be left unconnected. 4. For RS485 connections, the maximum transmission distance can reach up to 1200 meters. 5. For RS232 connections, the maximum transmission distance is typically limited to about 10 meters. 6. Always ensure proper insulation and connection of all wires to prevent short circuits or incorrect readings. 7. It's recommended to refer to the specific manual of your access control panel or host system for any additional wiring requirements or considerations.
